A popular theme park in western North Carolina on Friday announced it would take the year off.
According to team members at Land of Oz, a “Wizard of Oz” themed park in Beech Mountain, the theme park will stay closed for 2025.

The park cited recovery from Hurricane Helene and efforts to improve the long-term sustainability of the park.
“As our event has evolved, we face new challenges maintaining the high standard of experience that our guests expect,” the park said on Instagram.
The park thanked fans and patrons of the park for their “ dedication and contributions” to making the Fall of Oz event special.
The park said it is actively exploring ways to share the park with visitors in new and meaningful ways, including conducting a comprehensive assessment of the event and the park itself.
They are hoping to reopen in 2026.
