Breeze Airways is adding two new destinations from Raleigh-Durham International Airport, officials announced Wednesday.

Customers are now able to book nonstop flights from RDU to Key West, Florida, and Manchester, New Hampshire. Service to Key West begins Oct. 3, and service to Manchester begins Nov. 6.

A record number of passengers flew through RDU last year, a total of 15.5 million, according to Michael J. Landguth, president and CEO of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority.

The airport is expanding to accommodate new destinations and airlines with the addition of a new runway, expanding Terminal 2, adding more parking spaces, expanding and widening John Brantley Boulevard, opening more restaurants and building a ground transportation center.

"Over the next 10 years, we will touch just about every corner of this airport, elevating the travel experience and hopefully improve the driving experience to to the airport itself for our consumers," Landguth said.

The new Breeze destinations total 28 for the airline at RDU.

"This will take us to 28 destinations, which is now the most destinations of any airline in Raleigh-Durham," Lukas Johnson, chief commercial officer for Breeze Airways, said. "It's incredibly exciting to grow from just a couple of flights a week to over 100 flights a week now within just a two-year period."

The new destinations run twodays each week.
