RALEIGH, N.C. — The BrickUniverse LEGO Convention, which will be held Saturday and Sunday at the Raleigh Convention Center, is making attendees aware of its COVID-19 precautions.

Face masks will be required at the indoor event regardless of vaccination status. Policies in place for the health and safety of guests include:

  • Replacing building zones, which are hands-on, with more view-only LEGO displays
  • Limiting capacity with time sessions (8-10:30 a.m., 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and 2-4:30 p.m.) each day
  • Increasing event space and aisles to encourage social distancing
  • Hand sanitizer stations placed throughout the event

The seventh annual event features professional LEGO artists, hundreds of LEGO creations and multiple vendors.

"Past attendees before the pandemic may remember the event being packed with people from wall-to-wall," said event organizer Greyson Beights. "This will simply not be the case for this year's event. We are reducing capacity and increasing aisle spaces for a more comfortable, socially distanced experience."

New additions to the festival this year include a 67,000-piece Vatican City recreation and NASA-inspired creations.

Tickets are still available for both days. They will be for sale at the door or online for $15.
