The Lee County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide after a woman's body was found in the roadway Saturday at around 3 a.m.



The sheriff's office said they responded to a call of a disturbance on Steele Bridge Road.

The woman was found suffering from gunshot wounds. She died from her injuries, according to the sheriff's office.

No other details were released to the public at this time.
