Learn to make these cocktails for National Cocktail Day
Welcome Wrl out and about fans
My name is paige stroud and I am with the
beverage team for Perry's steakhouse and grille here in bar
79 is where we create our handcrafted cocktails and to
celebrate national cocktail day
I'm going to show you two of those cocktails today
One a lighter cocktail and one a little bit more
spirit forward
So we're gonna begin with our lighter cocktail today which
is a take on a classic bee's knees
So we use empress jen for our lavender be mine
So in christian is used with botanicals that are unique
such as pea blossom flower
So the pea blossom flower gives it this beautiful indigo
natural color as well
Dry care sell soap your friend
We choose to use peer friend here because it is
utilized with brandy and pure friend cognac
But really at home you can use any orange decor
that you choose
And then to be a true these days you have
to have lemon juice honey water
So honey is really essential to a bee's knees
And at home you can do a 2 to 1
ratio of honey and water or you can do a
11 really
It just depends on how sweet you want your cocktail
And then we kind of mix it up with a
little bit of lavender
So that's a fun little take on this cocktail and
then we're gonna shape
So we should actually shake for about 20 seconds
But if you have a strong shake really what you're
looking for is to hear the dilution and your cocktail
So once you hear more of the fluid and there
it is
Breaking up a little bit
All right And you see that beautiful lavender color that
really comes from that empress
But really you can use whatever jin at home you
choose whatever is your favorite
So we prefer the in question here and then we
garnish with a lemon twist heart and at home really
make it simple
You could do just a classic lemon twist
So our lavender be mind pairs beautifully with our beef
and blue
So crostini with bacon marmalade and beef tenderloin and blue
cheese crumbles really pairs lovely
And speaking of great food and drink combinations now we're
going to get into our spirit forward cocktails our hog
hat
So it is a classic take on a Manhattan
We're going to do a 2-1 ratio of redemption right
And sweet for muth
And to add a little bit more fun to this
cocktail
We garnish it with our house made barbecue sauce
So you can take a little brush
It just makes it a little cleaner
But or you can slap it on your at home
Have fun with it brush on that barbecue sauce
And then we're gonna roll it and sugar in the
bra
and then you add your ice
And you're gonna stir
We suggest you stir for 30 seconds
But really you're just wanting that proper dilution
And then at home if you're ever wondering what should
I stir and what should I shake for a cocktail
there's an easy trick
So anything with citrus you should shake anything all spirits
you serve so really easy citrus shake the spirit stir
And I think we have got that proper dilution
So our take on a tragic Manhattan and here comes
the fun part
We garnish with our pork chop bites and Luzardo cherries
to add a little fun flair and it really goes
great together yep
That's pretty delicious
