Most breastfeeding classes around here happen in homes and hospitals. Now add neighborhood drugstore to the list.

Lactation consultant Susan O'Hara-Brill of Chatham Lactation Services will be offering a breastfeeding class for expectant parents at the Kerr Drug community health center in Chapel Hill's East 54 development. The first class is from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. A second class is from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 27.

O'Hara-Brill will share tips on how to get off to a good start with feeding your newborn immediately after delivery and discuss some of the challenges. She'll answer questions and talk about all the breastfeeding-related gadgets and accessories that are on the market these days.

The class is $25 per couple. Contact O'Hara-Brill at Chatham Lactation Services for details and to register.
