CARY, N.C. — The latest proposal for the Cary Towne Center could bring in millions of tourism dollars.

If the proposal passes it would create a multi-million dollar sports complex. The project would cost $193 million, it would include a 150,000 square foot building, an arena that will seat 4,000 and 12 basketball courts.

Some Cary residents seem to like the idea of the sports complex.

“I think that will do something good for the community and get a lot of these kids in the streets something more positive," said Cary resident Jeffery Marshal.

Part of the proposal calls that $35 million from Wake County tourism taxes be used. Wake County Board of Commissioners and Raleigh City Council are expected to vote on that dollar amount next week.
