A cross country bus tour aimed at uniting the breastfeeding community will make a stop at Southern Village in Chapel Hill on Thursday.
The Latch on America tour will be on the Southern Village Green on Market Street in Chapel Hill from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday. The giant pink bus is making stops in 30 cities with the goal of empowering and connecting the breastfeeding community.
A variety of groups will be there with information about breastfeeding resources in the Triangle. A film crew will capture the breastfeeding stories of mothers. There also will be some activities for the kids.
The Triangle was chosen because of the Carolina Global Breastfeeding Institute, led by Miriam Labbok. Labbok is a world-renowned expert on breastfeeding benefits who is well connected with national and international child health groups.
