— Labor Day weekend won't break any weather records, but it will certainly be hot on Friday and Saturday with temperatures in the mid 90s. The sunny skies and heat will be replaced with wetter, cooler weather on Sunday and Monday.

"It’s going to feel like summertime both today and tomorrow," said WRAL meteorologist Aimee Wilmoth. "We haven't seen a high in the 90s since Aug. 17, so it has been a little while since the temperatures have been on the uncomfortable side."

Friday will be partly cloudy and hot with an expected high of 93 degrees, followed by a warm evening in the 70s – perfect for area high school football games.

Isolated showers or storms are possible Friday and Saturday, but not likely. The best chance for rain starts Sunday afternoon and continues into Monday and possibly Tuesday, thanks to .

"We’re still talking about Isaac," Wilmoth said. "It could bring us some rain for the end of the holiday weekend. Not the best of news, but the first half of the holiday weekend we should be OK."

Sunday "could be fairly wet," said WRAL meteorologist Nate Johnson.

Saturday will reach 94 degrees before dipping to 88 on Sunday and 86 on Monday. The 90s are expected to return next Wednesday and Thursday with a high of 91.
