Kroger has announced that they are ending the 5% senior discount in select South Carolina locations, which is in the Kroger Atlantic region.

For our South Carolina readers, this includes stores that are located in Aiken, Beaufort, Horry, Lexington and Richland counties.

Stores in North Carolina, which are part of the Mid-Atlantic region, will continue to offer the senior discount. "At this time, there are no plans to end the Senior Discount program in our Raleigh Durham stores," according to Anne Jenkins, of the Kroger Mid-Atlantic region.

Following is a statement from Felix Turner, Public Relations Manager for Kroger’s Atlanta Division:

“Kroger is committed to creating an exceptional shopping experience for all our customers throughout the Atlanta Division. As part of that commitment, we have lowered prices, again, on thousands of products throughout our stores, including those located in Aiken, Beaufort, Horry, Lexington and Richland counties. As a result, we are discontinuing a smaller targeted discount program – Senior Day.

The last day the program will be offered is Wednesday, May 17. We began communicating these changes directly to customers who utilize this program on Wednesday, April 26.

We want all customers to save every day of the week regardless of their preferred shopping day. These new lower prices on thousands of items will make the shopping experience easier and a greater value for all Kroger shoppers.”
