MONROE COUNTY, GA. — A Knightdale woman had her life turned upside down on a recent trip to Georgia.

Abby Wiseman was expecting to deliver her daughter in Knightdale in November, but her firstborn had other ideas.

"I still can't believe it," said Wiseman.

Wiseman was visiting her best friend's house in Monroe County, Georgia, when her water broke three months early.

"At first, I was like, 'No, it didn't,'" said Wiseman. "It did."

Wiseman headed straight to the car with best friend Courtney in the driver's seat.

"We get about half a mile down the road, still in her neighborhood, and I said to Courtney, 'You have got to throw this car in park, she's coming,'' said Wiseman.

Moments later, Wiseman's miracle arrived, but Wiseman was going to need a second miracle to keep baby Luna breathing.

"Monroe County EMS showed up. They saved her life," said Wiseman. "None of their breathing equipment was small enough to secure an airway for her, so Captain Christina used the ambu bag for 30 minutes keeping her lungs breathing and open."

Now, three weeks later, mother and baby are doing just fine. Wiseman is thankful her miracle had so many helping hands.

"They're talking about taking her off the ventilator and onto the next step," said Wiseman. "I can't wait to tell her about the people we know and the people we don't know who supported her and us so selflessly."

Wiseman said she and her husband, Josh, are stuck in Georgia for the near future, as Luna is still too fragile to travel.

It may be until November before it's safe to bring her home.
