CHAPEL HILL, N.C.Kidzu Children’s Museum has won a $12,000 grant to support the museum's Learning Without Boundaries program, which provides free and discounted programs to low-income families in Orange County.

The grant comes from the Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Carolina, which provides grants to non-profit organizations across the state every spring and fall, according to a news release. The funds are awarded to help children in the areas of health care, education and social service. In recent years, it has awarded more than $1 million in grants to more than 150 non-profit organizations.

“We’re so thankful to Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Carolina for giving us this opportunity,” said Lisa Van Deman, Kidzu’s executive director, in the news release. “We firmly believe that all children should have access to early childhood educational opportunities, and we’re excited that RMHC of NC believes in this mission as well.”

Kidzu is at University Place in Chapel Hill.
