Registration is now open for Activate Good's Kids Helping Kids: Summer of Service program.

Activate Good is a local community group that connects kids, families and adults with volunteer opportunities in the area. Registration for the summer program for kids is open through June 6 or until the program is full.

As part of the program, kids will lead a service project that includes family, friends or neighbors. Participants must attend a training program and kit pick-up event on June 26.

Once they have the training and materials, they can conduct a supply drive, assemble the items and deliver them by Aug. 6. The program is for kids in third to ninth grades.

Kids can volunteer to collect hygiene and wellness bags for women and girls experience homelessness or crisis or weekend snack packs for kids served by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Wake County. (A third option, to collect school supply bags for Wake Up and Read, is full.)

More information is on Activate Good's website.
