RALEIGH, N.C. — Marbles Kids Museum will host its fifth Kids Code event this Saturday, Nov. 2. Kids and families will get a chance to get involved in some hands-on coding and computer science activities.

The event, which is free with Marbles' $7 admission, runs 1 p.m. to 4 p.m, Nov. 2, at the downtown Raleigh museum. Guests will build binary code bracelets, program mini robots, tinker with computer parts and get an in-depth look at just how important coding and computer science are in our daily lives, according to a press release.

More than 20 local professionals from careers in technology, engineering, computer science and more also will be at Marbles to spark an interest in STEM job possibilities, share their personal experiences and lead hands-on activities, according to the release. This year’s Kids Code is presented by Citrix but will also showcase our partners at IBM, Betabox Labs, Kramden and Lenovo.

“Marbles Kids Code is an opportunity to spark kids’ curiosity about coding and computer science through hands-on, unplugged play and get them thinking about how we use technology to create, innovate and make a difference,” said Hardin Engelhardt, Marbles' vice president of learning, in the release. “This community is home to amazing tech professionals and this event helps get STEM career possibilities on kids’ radar with the help of experts in the field.”
