CNN — Almost 24 years to the day after Selena Quintanilla-Pérez performed her final live, televised concert, country star Kacey Musgraves paid tribute to the late singer at the same venue.

Musgraves appeared Monday at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo at the NRG Astrodome and performed Quintanilla-Pérez's song "Como La Flor."

The beloved Tejano singer, known simply as Selena to her fans, performed at the venue -- then the Houston Astrodome -- on February 26, 1995.

On March 31, 1995, Quintanilla-Pérez was murdered by her former fan club president, Yolanda Saldívar.

The singer was 23 when she died.

Musgraves, 30, posted about her performance Tuesday on her official Instagram stories.

"24 years ago Selena performed her last concert here," Musgraves wrote. "It was a dream of mine to be able to pay my respects to her iconic legacy."

She also tweeted about it.

Musgraves won an endorsement from the singer's sister, Suzette Quintanilla, who shared video of the performance on Instagram.

"Awww this makes me wanna shed a tear! Takes me back," the caption read. "A Big Big Thank you @spaceykacey for the love at the Houston Rodeo tonite with that SELENA Y LOS DINOS Jam!"
