Justin Roberts, a star in the world of kindie rock (that's shorthand for independent rock for kids), played two shows at The ArtsCenter in Carrboro on Saturday.
We went to the 2 p.m. show where the crowd had so much fun Justin and his Not Ready for Naptime Players returned to the stage not once as usual, but twice.
Roberts, who some call the hardest working man in children's show business, was back for the seventh year at The ArtsCenter. He played favorites from across his many albums, including some requests from the crowd. As usual, the floor in front of the stage turned into a dance party for the under four foot set.
This weekend's shows also included three from the new album he'll release on June 8 ... Jungle Gym.
See clips of two of those songs ... Trick or Treat and We Go Duck ... in the video below. Plus there's an interview with Justin himself.
He should be back at The ArtsCenter next spring (though he says in the interview he'd love to be back sooner). I think the crowd at The ArtsCenter this weekend would love it too.
