I'm excited. Very excited in fact for the Justin Roberts show later this month at The ArtsCenter in Carrboro.

The kindie rock star, who you may have seen on Nickelodeon or the Today Show, will perform two shows on March 20 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. He's been making regular stops at The ArtsCenter since 2003. And this will actually be my third time there (oh ... and I do bring my child with me).

Justin and his Not Ready for Naptime band bring a high-energy show that has the kids absolutely engaged and excited. A little mini mosh pit forms in the front of the stage. It's adorable and just a lot of fun.

The five-time Parent's Choice Gold award winner's music has been compared to everyone from Elvis Costello and Fountains of Wayne to Paul Simon and Nick Lowe. And his lyrics are just really clever and capture real moments in childhood ... eating ketchup with a side of grilled cheese ... for instance.

Justin has a slew of albums. His latest called Jungle Gym will come out on June 8 and he will be playing some of his new stuff at the concert.

Let me stop gushing now ... except to add that you should be on the lookout this week for a ticket giveaway that I'll have for the concert.

But if you want to be sure you get a seat, get your tickets now. They often sell out for this one. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for ArtsClub members, students and kids. Children two and under are admitted free. For tickets, call The ArtsCenter’s Box Office at (919) 929-2787, ext. 201 or visit the website at www.ArtsCenterLive.org.
