RALEIGH, N.C. — A judge on Wednesday denied a motion for bond for a man charged with the murder of a 2-year-old child in Raleigh last summer.

William Lee Bell, 22, surrendered to police in May 2016 after Chase Jordan Eaddy was found lying passed out on the floor at a home in the 5200 block of Somerset Mill Lane. Police said Bell and the child both lived at the home.

A woman called 911 to report Chase was unresponsive. “He was playing, and then he just fell out. He’s just lying there, not moving,” she said.

Superior Court Judge Robert Hobgood said he was denying Bell's application for bond based on Chase's autopsy.
