The superintendent of Johnston County Schools is a finalist for the superintendent position in Berkeley County, S.C., officials confirmed.

SMITHFIELD, N.C. — The superintendent of Johnston County Schools is a finalist for the superintendent position in Berkeley County, S.C., officials confirmed.

Anthony Parker is one of three finalists for the job.

Parker is scheduled to meet with the school board and community in South Carolina on Wednesday.

In November, Parker announced he would retire from Johnston County Schools in June 2009. He has served in the position the past five years.
