<b>BENSON, N.C.</b> — A person is recovering after being shot by their uncle in Johnston County, according to the sheriff's office.

Authorities surrounded a home on Woodall Dairy Road in Benson on Friday around 2 p.m.

The shooting is believed to have been intentional. The nephew who was shot is in serious condition and expected to be in the hospital for several days.

Michael Edward Langdon was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury.

The motive for the shooting is not known. The shooting is under investigation.
