Johnston man charged with child sex crimes, making pornography
A Johnston County man faces charges of sexually assaulting children and making child pornography, authorities said Wednesday.

Jason Thomas Galant, 33, was arrested last Friday at his home in southern Johnston County by State Bureau of Investigation agents. He was charged with seven counts of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and two counts if committing a sex offense against a child under age 13 and remains in the Johnston County jail under $3 million bond.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children tipped off the SBI to the alleged crimes. The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office and the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
