<b>MICRO, N.C.</b> — A 35-year-old man died Saturday after being hit by a train in downtown Micro, Johnston County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Tammy Amaon said. <br />

Joe Miller, of Micro, was lying on the tracks, located across Field and Railroad streets, when a train hit him around 2:30 a.m. <br />

Miller died on the way to the hospital, Amaon said.

According to the Sampson County Sheriff's Office, a school resource officer discovered the body of a man inside a vehicle at Hobbton Middle School athletic field. Authorities believe the man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
