WILMINGTON, N.C. — The Trump campaign is hosting a "fireside chat" with Ivanka Trump on Monday in Wilmington.
President Donald Trump has made numerous stops in North Carolina over the past couple weeks. Around two weeks ago he was in Wilmington to make a personal appearance in a key battleground state on V-J Day to declare the port city of Wilmington a "World War II Heritage City.”

North Carolina is important battleground state, with competitive races for president, governor and Senate. Trump carried North Carolina by only 3.7% four years ago, and wants to keep it in his column. Democratic nominee and former Vice President Joe Biden hopes to flip the state for the first time since 2008.

Trump campaign officials said that this is the fifth time that Ivanka Trump has visited North Carolina in the past 3 and a half years.

The event begins at 1 p.m. and a specific location has not yet been announced.
