RALEIGH, N.C. — The driver of a minivan crashed into a state trooper's vehicle Saturday afternoon, ending a high-speed chase through Raleigh.

According to law enforcement, the chase started on Interstate 40 West, went down South Saunders Street, looped around a few times and ended at a Shell gas station.

A clerk, Elisheva Moore, said she witnessed the entire incident, which was caught on the gas station camera.

"I came outside and watched the whole thing," said Moore. "I had it recorded, too, because that's a lot of cars to be chasing after somebody."

Troopers said they initially tried to pull the suspect over for speeding, but the driver would not stop.

"I saw police cars chasing another car. They went up this way, went around this way, and they finally circled back here," said Moore. "It smelled like burnt rubber."

Troopers said no one was hurt, and the trooper's vehicle had minor damage. Officials found some narcotics and two firearms.

The driver was charged with multiple felonies, including possession of a stolen firearm and assault with a deadly weapon involving a motor vehicle for running into the trooper’s vehicle.
