Joseph Eonta of Princeton just won a $402,887 Cash 5 jackpot in Wednesday's drawing.

The 69-year-old bought his $1 ticket at the Princeton Food Mart on Dr. Donnie H. Jones Boulevard. He said he chose the winning numbers based on his daughters’ and granddaughters’ ages.

“I had to look about 20 times,” Eonta said. “It floored me.”

Eonta picked up his prize Thursday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After taxes, he took home $286,091.

Eonta said he will use the money to pay bills and possibly buy a new car.

“I’m thrilled to death,” Eonta said. “This will help me considerably.”

Cash 5 tickets are $1, and drawings are held every night.

Friday’s jackpot is $110,000. The odds of winning a Cash 5 jackpot are 1 in 962,598.
