The International Festival of Raleigh runs through Sunday.

Experience a truly global event at the Raleigh Convention Center from Friday-Sunday. The International Festival will have dance performances, cooking demonstrations, a world market bazaar, a kids corner and more. Congratulate new citizens after the Naturalization Ceremony and learn about over 50 ethnic groups in the cultural exhibits. Ticket prices vary by day (adults are $6 on Friday, $8 on Saturday and Sunday), but kids 6 and under are always free.

International Festival on September 6th, 2008 (26 of 30)

The 34th annual International Folk Festival kicks off with plenty of art at Festival Park in Fayetteville Friday evening. Saturday’s main event is the Parade of Nations along Hay Street, followed by live performances, international food, arts and crafts vendors and a Native American Cultural Showcase. Stop by the WRAL tent from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday to pick up a free bag and meet Gerald Owens from noon to 3 p.m.! The fun continues through Sunday, and the event is free.

Centerfest Irish Dancers

Moore Square in Downtown Raleigh will be hosting a festival celebrating all things Irish this Saturday starting at 11 a.m. The Raleigh Irish Festival will have plenty of performances, including special guests from Ireland Briege Murphy, a folk musician, and The Sean Keane band. The kids will enjoy storytelling, the inflatables and the rides. Afterward, Tir na nOg Irish Pub is hosting a party. Admission to the festival is free.

Carrboro Music Festival on September 30, 2007

Sunday brings a musical whirlwind to downtown Carrboro. The 15th annual Carrboro Music Festival features over 180 bands and musicians at 25 venues. Local artists will perform and many styles of music, including jazz, country, rock, classical and bluegrass, will be exhibited. All this music comes at a bargain price—admission is free!

Come celebrate this 16-day German festival right in downtown Raleigh. Seaboard Station will be hosting Oktoberfest on Saturday afternoon with plenty of food trucks, restaurants and beer stations. There will be German music and beef from Hacker-Pschorr Brewery, one of the original Munich Oktoberfest beers. Two bounce houses and other activities will be available for the children. Tickets are $5 for adults, and kids get in free.
