Fayetteville, N.C. — One inmate allegedly bit another in a fight at the Cumberland County Detention Center Friday.
Michael Antonio McRae claims that Tony Lamont Truesdale bit off part of his ear as the two fought over a pen pal.
McRae was treated for his injuries at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and returned to the detention center.
Truesdale received only minor injuries.
Cumberland County sheriff's deputies are investigating the fight, but no additional charges have been filed against either man. Both were in the jail awaiting trial on first-degree murder charges for other crimes.
