Indictments handed down in slayings of Durham boy, woman

A Durham County grand jury has indicted seven people in connection with the deaths of a 5-year-old boy and 28-year-old woman.

DURHAM, N.C. — A Durham County grand jury has indicted seven people in connection with the deaths of a 5-year-old boy and 28-year-old woman.

Peter Lucas Moses Jr. was indicted on murder charges in the deaths of Jadon Higganbothan and Antoinetta McKoy.

Their bodies were found three weeks ago buried behind a Durham home where Moses' mother formerly lived. Both had been missing for months.

Jadon's mother, Vania Sisk, and two women who lived with her and Moses, Lavada Harris and Larhonda Smith, also were indicted on murder charges in the death of Antoinetta McKoy.

All three women were also indicted on charges of accessory after the fact of murder in Jadon's death.

Moses' mother, Sheilda Harris, and two siblings, P. Leonard Moses and Sheila Moses, were indicted on charges of accessory after the fact in McKoy's death.
