MORRISVILLE, N.C. — Icy patches caused three simultaneous wrecks on a bridge along Aviation Parkway Saturday morning, the Raleigh watch commander said.

The wrecks occurred on Aviation Parkway, near Globe Road and Interstate 540, around 7:40 a.m., the watch commander said. Cary police said that one person was pinned in.

That location lies near the edge of several jurisdictions, so Cary police are handling one wreck, and Raleigh police are handling two.

More details about the wreck haven't been released.

Cary police said a state Department of Transportation crew was called out to salt the bridge. Raleigh police expected the sun would melt the ice quickly and it wouldn't be a problem later in the day. No roads were closed.
