I-40 reopens near Mebane after early morning crash
All lanes of Interstate 40 west/Interstate 85 south were closed early Thursday morning near Mebane due to a crash.
Posted — UpdatedDURHAM, N.C. — All lanes of Interstate 40 west/Interstate 85 south reopened Thursday morning after a crash closed the highway near Mebane.
The crash happened before 5 a.m. near Exit 157 for Buckhorn Road. The highway reopened around 7 a.m. and delays began to clear up.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol said there were two separate crashes on the interstate around 3 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. One of the crashes involved a tractor-trailer.
People were injured in the crashes, but the severity of their injuries was unclear.
