A husband wanted for murder in the shooting death of a Wake County Public School System employee was taken into custody on Thursday.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A husband wanted for murder in the shooting death of a Wake County Public School System employee was taken into custody on Thursday.

Santago Oslo White was charged with murder in the death of 47-year-old Sharen White.

She had worked in the WCPSS transportation department for nearly four years.

Residents of the Dover Apartment complex who spoke with WRAL News said they heard two gunshots on Tuesday afternoon.

Rodolfo Laguna, who lives in a house down the street from the apartments, said that the area is usually calm.

"Yesterday was like something out of the ordinary," she said.

The person who called 911 said that he saw White's body outside of an apartment and heard gunshots. White died of her injuries shortly after police arrived, according to officials.
