Landslide in McDowell County leads to 90-mile detour

There was minimal power outages as of Thursday evening from the remnants of Zeta, which blew across North Carolina rather quickly. Still, for one Raleigh resident who lost power, it was a reminder of the neighborhood devasted by a tornado back in 1988.

Today Orange County schools will be closed due to weather. This comes just two days after some students returned to the classroom for the first time in months.

Officials with Orange County Schools sent out a notice to parents Wednesday night that classes on Thursday will be held online due to the threat of severe weather from the remnants of Zeta.
