FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — This is what Christmas is all about.

The Fayetteville Habitat for Humanity has set aside at least 15 homes for hurricane victims.

Two homes will be turned over Friday.

Families impacted by hurricanes are not the first to move into the new community.

One of the homes has already gone to Denise Lugo.

Lugo is a victim of Hurricane Matthew and is excited about her new three-bedroom home.

Her new house gives plenty of space for her granddaughter to rip and run, and she loves the new kitchen.

“I love my floors. I was able to pick out my floors, my cabinets, my counter tops, and they picked out the utilities and everything. And I love it because it’s spacious and I like open area, so I love the space,” said Lugo.

Lugo's enthusiasm will play out about 50 times. That's how many new homes are being built in Oakridge Estates.

At least seven of the homes are being set aside for veterans.
