RALEIGH, N.C. — Hundreds of protesters gathered in downtown Raleigh to voice their concerns after the bombshell Supreme Court leak on overturning Roe v. Wade.

Those that showed up Tuesday wanted to send a message to law makers and the Supreme Court that possibly overturning Roe v. Wade will be met with stiff resistance.

Their presence took up two full city blocks and their chants filled the four corners of Hargett and Wilmington.

The crowd showed up with signs, voices and strength in numbers, ready to react to the leak that the Supreme Court could limit abortion rights for women.

"We are going back in time. It shouldn’t be like that," said protestor Olivia Allen "We should be able to keep our rights."

There is concern about what this could mean for a woman’s right to choose and ultimately impact the list of resources and help available to those women.

“It is one of the hardest day in our lives and the government has no place in that decision," said Ammon Ford.

For about an hour, the crowd of hundreds went up and down Hargett to Wilmington with signs and chants until they reached Moore’s Square where speaker after speaker implored those in attendance to put pressure on lawmakers and the Supreme Court not to over turn roe vs wade.

“We are here to protect women’s rights you can’t be truly free unless you have freedom over your body right," said Sherry McQueen.

No counter protesters were on the scene Tuesday night.

Organizers did not share a date of another rally, but it was clear their efforts are not done.
