Pumpkins, pumpkins everywhere! Whether you’re guzzling down a pumpkin-spiced drink or getting ready to creatively decorate a jack-o’-lantern, it seems like the fall season has become all about the big orange gourds. But have you ever seen a pumpkin used as a drink cooler?
It’s not exactly the way we usually think of carving a pumpkin. Maybe the people who came up with these ideas were having a Halloween party and needed a place to store the drinks? Or, perhaps someone had just too many pumpkins laying around and said, “How can I use this in a practical way?” No matter the reason, we have to admit that a cooler is a fun way to create something useful out of a big pumpkin.

There is another, easier way to make a pumpkin into a drink cooler. Simply cut the top of the pumpkin like you would make a jack-o’-lantern. Remove the guts and seeds, as usual. Then fill with ice and your favorite canned or bottled beverage. Want a step-by-step guide? Check out BoredPanda.com’s instructions. The pumpkin cooler is not a new idea for Twitter user Pete Elliot. He showed off his hit creation back in 2015:
Sometimes, the simplest ideas are the best ones.
