Hope Mills man dies in Fayetteville wreck
A Hope Mills man died after he was thrown from his vehicle as it ran off a Fayetteville road around midnight Saturday.
Posted — UpdatedFAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Hope Mills man died after he was thrown from his vehicle as it ran off a Fayetteville road around midnight Saturday.
Peter Alan Thompson, 24, lost control of his 1997 Volkswagen while going north on Lakewood Drive, near Franciscan Drive, police said. The Volkswagen ran off the left side of the road, and Thompson overcorrected, sending the vehicle off the right side of the road.
The Volkswagen overturned, tossing Thompson from it.
The cause of the wreck hasn't been determined. Police were continuing to investigate Sunday morning.
