Hope Mills man accused of killing dog, attempted rape
Police have charged a Hope Mills man accused of killing his dog and trying to rape a woman in his neighborhood.
Posted — UpdatedShane Forrest Evilsizer, 36, of the 5500 block of Brown Street, faces two counts of cruelty to animals, one count of breaking and entering and one count of attempted first-degree rape in connection to the April 6 incidents.
Hope Mills police said officers had already responded to reports that Evilsizer was behaving aggressively and in a hostile manner.
The last time they responded, officers found he had killed the dog and that he also broke into a woman's home and tried to sexually assault her.
He also injured the woman's dog, which was trying to protect its owner, police said.
Evilsizer was jailed under a $305,000 bond.
