HOPE MILLS, N.C. — Four-year-old Maximus Turner from Hope Mills is a Little Big Shot.

Maximus will appear on Steve Harvey's show, Little Big Shots, Sunday night because of his love of flags and color guards. It is something he started doing when he was 3 while watching the South View High School marching band to help pass the time while his father was deployed.

"He literally sat up there the whole time with his hands in his ears," Michelle Turner, Maximus' mom said. "He went home and he got a little American flag out and started tossing it up.”

The band loved it and just about adopted him. His mother used videos of Maximus to help her husband get through the deployment.

Then, her husband surprised them both when he returned from deployment early and dressed as the South View High School's mascot. The family shared their story with Little Big Shots producers.

"I can throw my flag up really high," said Maximus.

Maximum also taught Harvey some moves!
