'Hope for Goldsboro' serves hundreds of Thanksgiving meals
A Goldsboro man fueled by his desire to serve is behind an effort to feed hundreds of families on Thanksgiving.
NEEDED HELP. >> >> LAST YEAR WE HAD ONE THIS YEAR IS THE SECOND ONE. >> LAST YEAR HOPE FOR GOLDSBORO FOUNDER SAW THAT INSTEAD OF CELEBRATING MANY FAMILIES WERE STRUGGLING. >> HE HAD A CARWASH TO RAISE MONEY. ON THANKSGIVING DAY THE GROUP SERVE 100 MEALS TO ANYONE IN NEED. >> IT STARTED OUT WITH ME COMING OUT OF MY POCKET. >> HE GRADUATED FROM THE ACADEMY BECOMING A GOLDSBORO POLICE OFFICER. >> HOPE FOR GOLDSBORO RAISED ENOUGH MONEY FOR 40 TURKEYS AND VOLUNTEERS BROUGHT EVEN MORE FOOD WITH THEM. THE MEAL WAS A SUCCESS BUT MORE MEANINGFUL WERE THE MOMENTS THEY SAW FIRSTHAND WHAT IT MEANT TO THOSE AT THE TABLE. >> WITHOUT THIS I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WOULD HAVE HAD AN EASY DAY OR YOU MAY HAVE PEOPLE COME IN AND SAY HEY I HAVEN'T HAD A GOOD MEAL LIKE THIS AND USE.
