Brave the rain and take an hour or two on Memorial Day to remember and honor veterans with these Triangle events.

All events are free and open to the public.

Raleigh Memorial Park and Cemetery - The service will include a flag ceremony, guitar and banjo music, refreshments and a white balloon release in memory of those who have died. The event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Freedom Balloon Festival - Weather permitting, there will be a ceremony in the "field of flags" at 11 a.m. at Fuquay-Varina's Fleming Loop Park.
Editor's Note: The Town of Cary canceled their Memorial Day service as a result of expected severe weather. Check event listings and websites before heading out to other Memorial Day celebrations to make sure they are still on.
