Hello, everyone. I'm meteorologist, Mike Mays in the wl severe weather center with our forecast update for this Friday night. We made it to the end of the work week. The weekend is here and the weekend looks much better than the past couple of days. If you're a sun worshiper, you're gonna like what we see for Saturday and Sunday. Now, if you wake up in the morning and you see the overcast and perhaps some fog, don't worry because it's going to burn off quickly at 7 a.m. We expect about 70 with an overcast 9 a.m. partly to mostly cloudy 72 and by 11 a.m. mostly sunny, we expect the temperature to be about 80 degrees now, whereas yesterday, I believe it was 78 out of RDU. Today was 80 tomorrow. We expect our high at 90. If we have enough sunshine, which I think we will 84 at lunch time, 88 by two o'clock, 90 by three and four. That couple with high humidity, it will feel very uncomfortable. You probably noticed the humidity jumped up today. Those dew points were back in the seventies and with dew points in the seventies tomorrow, our 90 could feel more like 97 the 92 on Sunday could feel more like 99 the 93 on Monday could feel more like 105 or 100 and six and then the air dries out somewhat on Tuesday. So it's not feeling quite as bad. 92 could feel like 97. So what is going on? We've seen low pressure move on by, it's on its way out. A dry northwest flow should take over tomorrow. If there are any showers around there, we're going to be closer to the coast with about a 20 to 30% chance for a few showers and storms. And I think tomorrow and Sunday should be dry by Monday, we may see our next opportunity for a shower or storm. So tomorrow 90 here in Raleigh 91 in Fayetteville, the little fog symbol for Greensborough in Asheville. That's for morning fog. It will be afternoon, Sunday 80 at boon 87 at Wilmington, 89 at Rocky Mount. And then for Sunday, we'll watch for some thunderstorms in the western part of the state. I don't think they'll get here until perhaps Sunday night. If at all 92 for us here in Raleigh, 92 in Fayetteville, 92 in Wilmington. And then on Monday, a small chance for some showers and thunderstorms as we see it right now. Check in with Peter and Anthony over the weekend, they'll have updates about what to expect by Monday should be hotter with a high temperature in the lower nineties. So overnight tonight, some low cloud and fog, low temperatures will be in the upper sixties to low 70 69 in Raleigh, 73 in Fayetteville. The rain has come to an end and warmer and humid tomorrow. Upper eighties to about 90 for the highs seven day forecast. No repeat of what we just had, it stays hot maybe in the upper eighties by next Wednesday, low nineties, Thursday and Friday and over the next seven days, minimal rain chances that's our forecast update for this Friday night. Baby. Yeah, I cannot tell you how excited I am in the main cummings high school has had a long legislative excellence in the class athletic field. And today I would like to welcome you to a prime example of that excellence. As you all know, we're here to celebrate the signing day ceremony for Mr Jonathan pay. Let's give it up. I have speak with him and I know for a fact that it simplifies respect, hard work, commitment and dedication in and out of the classroom. I want to take this time to thank him and his family for their hard work and support for getting him to this point. We also want to thank our school board and our superintendent, Doctor Butler for their support as well. Shout out to all the teachers in the house and your teachers, sir. And I can as we know, it truly takes some village. Thank you all for being here to support Jonathan as he embarks on the next big journey in his life and we wish him all the best. I public high school back in the fall of 2019, John eighth grade year to two days after football was supposed to start. I was a first year teacher. I was in my classroom trying to decide what I walked to my classmate and said, Mr Su, would you like to be the football coach? I had played football when I was young, I went to high school. It was such a positive experience and as I knew, done by taking that on in the first year, but I wanted these guys to have the opportunity to play football because it's that important for them. So I said yes before Mr Bo walked out of my room, he said, uh, the best that you didn't mean to the best athlete in man. And so two days started when we got started with our first practice at the end of that first practice, those guys not correctly if we can be disciplined and we should be on the and turns out we end up having a pretty, um, 1 to 5 year before we went to one, not quite undefeated but real close and turns out I had to play or something, you know, I think, um, angry also made one good coach a hard immediately saw the spread offense from snapping the ball. So it worked out pretty good occasionally. He throw the ball to De Williamson. Occasionally he pitch it and then most ran behind Jones and Tavon. And it's wonderful to see those, those sick guys that were a part of that still playing together. Yes, every day season. Not just because of wins. I think Johnson and the others during that season remembered the joy of playing football and they got the experience of winning is actually really fun and hardware pays off being a part of with your friends. Great experience. That year, we also learned that Jonathan wasn't just a great athlete. He was a great football player the same. He is a great football player. What makes it great and what's brought to this stage today, John is not just who you are as a person that's already been referred to John. What makes it easy for all of us to be here today? The happiness of this day celebrate with you today is because of who you are as a person. We do celebrate with you, but we also are here to celebrate to that we celebrate. You say you have worked very hard and that's the normal years I just saw recently you have to just walk out there and ride on your natural. You have and people are just going to give you stuff. You've been working extremely hard since before I met you in eighth grade. Kobe Bryant remains persevering. Been a great example of that to all of us up there. A great year to the rest of our family who are already extremely strong, work in the weight room extremely fast because you're working track. I don't know if you remember our first game against Ram 46 months and uh the second half guys, the ball came out to John, about 80 yards on Sunday ends up. It's about 20 yards away from everybody else after that played 46 points and I start me but he never, so to start. I didn't, I didn't have a backup and they all just happened and, but you've always been working hard and that's what we know, well, know at the next level, there's not anybody who works harder than you. You're also here today, you know, because fire inside you, I don't know how else to say, an incredible passion and drive and desire to that. Think about it and talk about it again and double overtime. And uh they work on the two point version of the 36 34. We needed three yards. I said we can get three yards and he ran about 100 yards. You have to drive that, sorry. And about the only time that year, somebody actually that 36 34 I'll never forget this after that. So, yeah, what you're clean up. He was crying, I think. And it wasn't, it wasn't tears of sadness. It was like crazy. Wait, if you want to get bad, he's going in, I sold it even so in the second half, well, ran from the far South gave us and we know you're gonna do well, nobody that fire. You got to be part of the last thing I want to say is why something once, I think you're here today and it's because you love being a part of team. I'm over number. So you guys policy last year and my rule you can't pull it up. Ok. Out of the school parking lot. 4 19. So the rest of the kids, they're looking around and they're jumping up and pretty small on the Saturday have behind a large service, make the tackle, but so thanks me. Um, so I take him to play basketball for, um, but at the end of the season I like dinner. Lovely. And so, you know, you gotta set it, they trying to get better at more. I do, you got, you got or whatever it takes to become that's what that um last thing I wanna say about John um just every, everybody already said such a respectful. Um I, he doesn't talk back, you know, whatever you ask. Other thing I always said me back there and now the British side. So um yes o and keep doing the so uh so yeah, you know. Yes um for me something that for sure where um I was no, but I say, oh, how will we? And she takes her? Yeah, yes sir. They came on and said that they go yeah. Oh now we used to feel like and we had to feel like oh she was like no like I like yeah, I thought this will be a you. Ok. Any other Children every year? The U.S. Transportation Department is investigating an incident in which passengers say they were stuck on a hot plane on the tarmac for 7 hours without being given food or water.

A girl and that's critical care nurse, Christine aroma of Connecticut in a moment that has now gone viral. We had elderly people. We had, we had pregnant women, not even water. You didn't even pass around water. She's seen here speaking for a group of passengers at the United ticket counter in Newark Liberty International Airport after their flight was delayed and canceled at one in the morning. It was hot thick. It was hard to breathe. We were trapped on that plane for seven hours. Should be a federal investigation. Somebody didn't die. Animo was headed to Rome on July 3rd with her family and hundreds of others. When shortly after being seated on the plane, things started to go wrong. We noticed that it was getting hot. The air conditioning wasn't working. The plane headed back to the gates. Mechanics jumped on and the problem seemed to be fixed until it started getting hot again. A says that's the captain said the plane was going back to the gate and they'd be getting off. That process took over three hours. People were taking off their shirts and women were in sports bras. It was just so hot and it became unbearable and there was no ventilation. The biggest shock for amo during the seven hours, nothing was ever offered. Nobody even offered water. What do you want me to do? Was the exact quote I got from one of the flight attendants aroma says she watched elderly people sweat. A baby was crying and a young girl almost passed out. She must have had a panic attack and she was vomiting. The US Department of Transportation says airlines must provide passengers with food and water no later than two hours after the tarmac delay. And even United's policy claims they will provide adequate food and potable water no later than two hours after the start of the tarmac delay unless the pilot in command determines that safety or security considerations preclude such service. So what happened if the CEO Scott Kirby's parents were on that plane? Would he have done something? Passengers were left in the airport, no accommodations or food and a canceled flight. Her family eventually found rooms and were able to book new flights for the next day at their own expense which Arana says added up to $4000. United's offer a compensation vouchers worth $400. She now has a message for United Ceo. I think that he needs to figure out how he's going to compensate all of us because it was a pretty horrific experience.

Passengers stuck on hot plane for 7 hours without water

In Northern California, two 7-Eleven clerks beat up a would-be robber, and a witness caught it all on camera.

The beating seen in this now viral video is under investigation by the Stockton Police Department. The more than five minute clip shows a man emptying shelves of cigarettes from a Stockton 7-Eleven store into a trash can. And I'm telling him no, there's nothing we can do. There's nothing you can do nothing. We just let him take and just go and store clerks stepping in as a bystander recorded the tense moments that 7-Eleven is on South Center Street in Stockton trying to fill it out because I said my job is to make it home. It's about a half mile away from the business co owned by the man who took that video who wanted only to be identified as hopefully everyone learns in the situation to win a good better mind state. Next time he says he was just stopping by the 7-Eleven for Red Bull and gas. When he saw the masked man go behind the counter. Once the guy was done, he tried to bypass the other employee, other employee grabbed them and the other employee went and grabbed the stake. And then from there, the fiasco in the clip, the man has hit more than two dozen times. Then I had to get really stern with my words. It's enough. And then so they kind of stopped and I kinda was narrating the situation. Look, he doesn't have a gun. Um, he's, he's all right. Are you done? Are you done? Are you done? All right now, it's time that we want to go. He need to go and you guys need to stop. Stockton. Police said that someone from the business eventually called police. Police say a report was taken and that this is an ongoing investigation. Data says he worries the situation could have escalated further. Had he not been there? Says the city and the people in it need to step up and be better than what he saw inside. We just need to figure out together as community and people that we got to love each other. On cam: 7-Eleven workers beat would-be robber

With different genetic websites, twins discovered they have 65 siblings throughout North America.

Amelia used ancestry dot com just a few years ago to find out more about her family. I was curious to know more of like my background and my ancestry as well as figure out who my father was and seeing if I could connect to any of the other siblings. And I didn't think I had this many. I was thinking maybe 2 to 3, a few months later, results showed her that she had eight confirmed siblings, but then her twin brother and took a DNA test on 23 and me finding 18 confirmed siblings. A new story in Canada shared by their stepmother showed a group of donor siblings that looked similar to both Andrew and Amelia was like there's no way we're not related DNA. Results confirmed that the twins were related to 30 other donor related siblings was amazing reacting to how many people are related to me, brothers and sisters. And then when it came to like knowing that they actually existed in that amount. It's crazy. The two connected with their new found siblings through social media groups just a few years ago. And since then, the number of siblings has grown to 65. It just keeps growing and keep getting added to the chat and being welcomed in. Members of the 2046 sibling group live in Canada, California throughout the east coast and Midwest. Their ages range from 14 to 27 causes me to think like I'm in a new life like with other beings that are like me. I didn't know existed. Amelia and Andrew traveled to New Jersey last summer to meet some of their brothers and sisters discovering similar physical traits and interests with many of them being very athletic and artistic. We went to a Planet Fitness Center up there and that was, that was really fun. We went in the morning and all of us were on treadmills at once, which was kind of funny. We were just wondering if anyone would notice that we were all related as for the future of their relationship with their siblings. The twins hope to plan annual summer trips to keep everyone connected just working together, to learn more about ourselves and to establish that connection because connections are important. Those are things that are going to help you get through life and things that can be everlasting and it helps make life worthwhile as well.

Twins discover they have 65 other siblings

Two U.S. Navy sailors were arrested Wednesday and are accused of spying for China. Both men are accused of sharing national defense information with Chinese intelligence in exchange for money.

A serious breach of national security. That's how federal officials are describing alleged espionage by two US navy sailors. We stand ready to hold accountable those who would betray the public trust. 22 year old Jinqiao Wei and 26 year old Wang Hao Zhao are accused of passing along national defense information to Chinese intelligence in exchange for money. When a soldier or sailor chooses cash over a country and hands over national defense information in an ultimate act of betrayal. We have to be ready to act. Speaking at a press conference Thursday in San Diego, federal officials outlined details about the charges. Wei who became a US citizen in 2022 is alleged to have sent documents, photos, videos and technical manuals to China. And Zhao was accused of providing sensitive us military information including operational plans for a major military exercise. We will not tolerate any attempts to undermine the sanctity and democratic freedom of this great nation. This is just the latest case of possible spying tactics by China earlier this year. The US accused the Chinese government of using a surveillance balloon to capture imagery on us military sites following this recent incident, a spokesperson for the Chinese embassy accused the US government of hyping cases of espionage and said this is a groundless slander and smear of China the incident, putting further pressure on an already strained relationship.
