CARY, N.C. — The demolition of a home in Cary led to a gas leak Tuesday morning that closed Chapel Hill Road, authorities said.

PSNC Energy officials said the demolition crew didn't ensure the gas line to the home at 9281 Chapel Hill Road had been shut off before razing the structure.

Chapel Hill Road was closed between Portrait Drive and Woodland Drive for about an hour as PSNC crews shut off the damaged gas line.
