HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. — A local cheer and dance company has ended its licensing agreement with Rockstar Cheer and said it is not affiliated with a South Carolina company with a similar name.

That's the facility whose owner is accused of sexual abuse going back more than a decade.

The local facility in Holly Springs was formerly known as Rockstar Cheer Gym, and as of Tuesday night it's known just as Holly Springs Gym
Evan Nierman, a spokesperson with the gym, told WRAL News the only tie they had to Rockstar Cheer in Greenville, South Carolina was a licensing fee agreement to use the word "Rockstar" in their name.
Nierman said the name agreement was terminated and they announced the change on Facebook.
That's because Scott Foster, the founder of Rockstar Cheer in Greenville, is accused of sexual abuse in a lawsuit.

A law firm is representing multiple people who said they're victims of Foster.

As for the Holly Springs location, Nierman said Foster did visit the space on one occasion.
"He's been to the gym one time in the past four years. He was at a clinic, he was never ever alone with any of the children," said Nierman. "He was providing verbal coaching only and he was in the gym for a couple of hours."

Foster was found dead by a self-inflicted gunshot wound last week.

The law firm bringing this case forward said the Department of Homeland Security is leading the investigation into sexual misconduct by Foster.
