RALEIGH, N.C. — Months after Holly Aiken closed its downtown Raleigh location, the retailer announced it will sell its bags inside Deco.
In February, Stitch, Holly Aiken's retail store, closed its Hargett Street location and moved to the coast. The new Wilmington location opened in April on the Intracoastal Waterway near the Wrightsville Beach Drawbridge.

“Though my business is based in Wilmington now, it was born in Raleigh,” Aiken said. “Leaving the city altogether was never my plan, and the partnership with Deco allows us to stay connected with our Raleigh customers.”

According to a press release, the Holly Aiken boutique at Deco will be roughly the size of Stitch and will include the full collection of bags in several hundred style and color combinations. Like at Stitch, Deco shoppers will be able to order custom Holly Aiken bags at the in-store design station.

Every Holly Aiken bag is cut by hand at Stitch's Wilmington manufacturing studio and sewn by local independent seamstresses. The bags are known for their geometric, colorful designs and patterns.

"Holly Aiken was a retail pioneer downtown, and it’s safe to say that Deco wouldn’t be here if Holly hadn’t recognized an opportunity, and taken the risk, all those years ago," said Pam Blondin, owner of Deco.

Deco is located at 207 S. Salisbury Street in downtown Raleigh. Holly Aiken bags will be on sale during Deco's store hours starting Sept. 2.
