Holiday, winter events planned at Marbles Kids Museum

Marbles Kids Museum is hosting its annual Winter Wonder Weeks event through Jan. 30. The museum is also holding several holiday events this month including a Gingerbread house workshop.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Marbles Kids Museum is hosting its annual Winter Wonder Weeks event through Jan. 30.

The event offers winter and holiday themed crafts and activities. All activities are included in your paid admission to the museum.

Play Scooter Snowball Toss and mail letters to the North Pole from Dec. 15-23. There will be a Wish Tree set up from Dec. 27-31 for you to share your wishes for the new year. From Jan. 3-20, there will be a "Let's Build a Snowman" activity.

Every Wednesday at 11 a.m. there will be Winter Wonder Storytime featuring stories and music celebrating winter. 

Other activities will include designing cards, snowflakes and building snow globes.

Marbles' annual holiday events are also coming up. On Dec. 18-19, the annual Gingerbread Jamboree family workshop will be held. The event has three sessions on Dec. 18 and two on Dec. 19. Tickets are $15 per person for members and $18 per person for non-members. The event will have a reduced capacity due to COVID-19 concerns. Tables can accommodate up to six people. Each group will enjoy crafting at their own socially-distanced table. Museum admission is not included. Reusable Gingerbread Houses are available for purchase for $25.

Marbles Evening with the Elves, which is planned Dec. 10, is sold out this year. Limited tickets were available this year.

The Polar Express is also being shown in 3D at the IMAX Theater at Marbles throughout the month.
For adults ages 21 years and older, Marbles will hold its Gingerbuild Houses and Hops event on Dec. 17. Tickets are $15 per person and being sold by tables of two to six people. Each group will build their small edible gingerbread houses at socially distanced tables. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.
Just remember that you must have a timed-entry ticket before you get to Marbles for entry into the museum. Also, masks are required inside the museum for all guests 5 years and older, regardless of vaccination status. You can purchase timed tickets on Marbles' website.

Marbles is open 10 a.m . to 5 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday, and until 7 p.m. on Thursdays.
