One person died and another was injured in a single-car accident in Hoke County Saturday night.

The driver, whose name was not released, was taken to UNC Hospital while the passenger, whose name was also not released, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
Authorities said they believe alcohol and speed might have been factors in the accident, which happened at about 7:30 p.m. in Raeford
The driver was wearing his seat belt, but the passenger was not, officials said.
No names have been released, because officials were having difficulties notifying next of kin. Charges were pending.
