Raleigh, N.C. — The popular Historic Oakwood Candlelight Tour is continuing this year with a few changes due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The walking tour runs through Dec. 27 and features historic homes decorated for the holidays. This year, the tour will include 23 properties in the historic neighborhood. Guests will only be able to view the homes from the outside due to the pandemic.
To help enhance the tour, there is an app that gives walking directions and house descriptions. Headphones are suggested for guests using the app. The self-guided tour starts at the Tucker House. Masks are recommended and tourgoers should remain on the sidewalks at all times.
While this year's tour is free to the public, there is a suggested donation of $5 to help cover the costs of the event. Donations are tax deductible.
