Hillsborough man charged with murder in 18-year-old's overdose death

A Hillsborough man has been charged with murder following the overdose death of an 18-year-old last year.

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — A Hillsborough man has been charged with murder following the overdose death of an 18-year-old last year.

Nathan Windham, 43, was charged with second-degree murder, selling and delivering heroin and selling and delivering a counterfeit controlled substance.

Hillsborough police said the charges steam from the death of an unidentified 18-year-old man who was found dead from an opioid overdose inside his home at the Ardmore Cates Creek apartment complex on Nov. 13.

Windham was being held at the Orange County Jail under $600,000 secured bond.
