Posted — UpdatedATLANTA — Drivers in Atlanta were once again dealing with traffic chaos Monday morning after westbound lanes of Interstate 20 buckled in the eastern part of the city, forcing crews to shut down the highway.
A DeKalb County Police spokesperson told an NBC affiliate that an underground gas leak caused the buckling.
Crews shut down all westbound lanes of I-20 as a result. It's unclear when the highway will reopen.
Monday's highway headache comes just two and a half weeks since a massive blaze caused a section of Interstate 85 to collapse in the city.
