Sunday was a beautiful day, but big changes are on the way this week, according to WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze.
Temperatures will drop significantly for Monday, which will see a high in the low 50s in Raleigh. The roller coaster temperatures continue Tuesday, which will be the warmest day of the week, with a high of 69 degrees expected in Raleigh.
On Wednesday, temperatures will drop back into the low 50s, becoming even cooler for Thursday and Friday.
Temperatures could be as low as 27 degrees early Friday morning, a stark contrast to Tuesday's balmy temperatures.
"It's not just one steady day where we'll have a contrast, we're going to have a lot of ups and downs," said Maze.
Rain is not expected until next weekend.
"For Monday it will be a wardrobe adjustment, but by Tuesday, if you plan on working outside, you can leave the jackets at home," Maze said.
Maze said there are huge question marks about next weekend - depending on how low the temperatures go.
